About Vintage Pizzeria

Vintage Pizzeria, with three locations: Chamblee, Dunwoody and Milton/Crabapple, has become well known in the Atlanta area for its New Jersey influenced thin crust pizza. The dough is made fresh daily and our hand tossed pies are topped with the freshest ingredients.

In Dunwoody, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across Georgia on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are increasingly common but often cost a few dollars extra, and cross-contact in a shared oven is standard unless the shop says otherwise.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11:30 am–9 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. I have visited this location a number of times throughout the years. The service used to be really good, but it has been on a decline, especially recently. Today, I went in to place a carry out order. This was during the lunch hour. I had to wait a bit, which was fine. But, when a server arrived to take my order he appeared annoyed and was not pleasant. I asked if he was ok. He responded that he was -- just busy. I asked a question about the portion size of an item. He gave a half hearted response -- as if he did not have the time or the desire to answer my question. I almost walked away, but I wanted to give him grace. I placed an order, left a tip, and then stepped out to wait on my food. When I walked back, in he greeted at the door with my food in hand as if to shoo me away. I checked my food (shown in the photos) and asked another server about portion size as I had more chicken than noodles. He told me I could purchase a larger size after I explained that I have come in before and ordered the same thing and received more noodles than chicken. He walked away and the guy who took my order initially told me that was the portion size, that it was pre-measured and I could order the

I was referred to come here by one of the employees and get the lunch pizza and salad special. The salad came out fast, which was good, but it could use a little bit more salad dressing in my opinion. I got a slice of pepperoni pizza, which I felt tasted bland and could have been cooked a bit longer. The girl working the bar area gave pretty good service but didn't ask how my food was.

Let me start with the amazing service. We were a large, talkative bunch, and were so glad they gave us a patio table. Our server had to keep up with so many drink variations, and customized orders, and he delivered spot on! He even split our bill before being asked. All with a huge smile. The pizzas were good too, as was the calzone, salad, and mozzarella sticks. The portions were sizable, so most of us had to-go boxes. The fans in the patio are a big help, especially on humid days. They even have a ramp for easier entry.
